The purpose of this section of the website is to provide patients who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer (and their partners) with information on a treatment option called prostate brachytherapy. The following information is only a summary; it does not include all the details that are available on prostate brachytherapy. This section is intended to give enough background on prostate brachytherapy so that newly diagnosed patients can discuss it as a possible treatment choice, with their consultant and the healthcare professionals in the prostate cancer treatment team at their hospital. Patient materials from local brachytherapy centres can be found in The UK brachytherapy centres section, and additional sources of information on prostate cancer, prostate brachytherapy and other prostate cancer treatments are listed in the Links section of the website. Further reading from these sources is strongly recommended.
